چکیده
A parametric optimization problem of cross-sectional sizes for cold-formed steel lipped channel structural members subjected to axial compression has been considered by the paper. An is formulated as define optimum member taking into account post-buckling behavior (web and flange local distortional buckling) well requirements when profile perimeter (strip width), thickness, design lengths material properties are constant specified in advance. Maximization load-carrying capacity assumed purpose function. The solved exhaustive search method using software written Python. As results channels with dimensions have obtained depending on thickness member. In order obtain solutions CFS which independent from flexural searching a compromise solution performed method. higher buckling resistance under at same consumption (stripe width) comparing proposed manufacturer. Web phenomenon occurred all cross-sections sizes.

Local and Distortional Buckling of Cold-Formed Steel Members
Laminar structures have a high post-buckling strength reserve. Cold-formed steel profiles can be taken as a set of thin plate elements. Therefore it is necessary to design this type of profiles taking into account that reserve of strength in post-local buckling modes of failure. The method normally used to design this type of structures is based on the Effective Width concept. The Effective Wid...
متن کاملYield - line analysis of cold - formed steel members
The objective of this paper is to provide a state of the art review of the application of yield-line analysis to cold-formed steel members, and present a newly developed solution to the stresses that develop in an inclined yield-line. Yield-line analysis in cold-formed steel members is shown to be distinct from traditional yield-line applications. Challenges in the application of yield-line ana...
متن کاملImpact of cross-section stability on cold-formed steel member stiffness and ductility
The objective of this paper is to provide work towards design methods to predict both the loss of stiffness and the available ductility for cold-formed steel members subject to cross-section deformations resulting from local and distortional buckling. Existing design specifications provide some guidance on how to predict the stiffness of cold-formed steel members, but no guidance on their avail...
متن کاملStructural behavior of cold-formed stainless steel bolted connections
This paper presents a series of tests on cold-formed stainless steel bolted connections. The test specimens were fabricated from three different types of stainless steel, including austenitic stainless steel EN1.4301 (AISI 304) and EN1.4571 (AISI 316Ti having small amount of titanium) as well as lean duplex stainless steel EN1.4162 (AISI S32101). The material properties of the three types of st...
متن کاملFuzzy Approach for Optimization of Cold-Formed Cross Sections
This paper presents a fuzzy procedure for obtaining optimal design of channel section shapes under bending moment. The proposed approach refers to an ideal, equivalent single objective representation for the bicriteria objectives, where the cross-sectional area of thin-walled beam is the first objective, while the deflection of the beam is the second one. The design variables were selected as t...
